Welcome to the bloggy home of Claire Chadwick. I'm the face & designer behind Scissors Paper Rock Designs, a wife to Chris, Mummy to the Divine Miss Ella & our newest addition; Baby Ryder. I'm a Primary School Teacher by trade, but recently shut my classroom door to pursue other BIG dreams of Freelance Writing. I am also excited to announce that my first Children's Picture Book {So Many Sounds} will hit stores in June 2013. This blog is my little online space where I weave together my reflections and stories of Motherhood. I illustrate with photos.... and drink plenty of coffee to keep me going. I'm on a mission to turn the mundane moments of motherhood into MAGICAL ones.

Join me in seeping as much goodness out of life, {whilst I continue to drink way too much coffee & take way too many photos} and together we can make the most of our WILD & PRECIOUS LIVES!

I'd love to hear from you....comment on my posts or send me an email. Buckle up, Enjoy the ride!

Live! Laugh! Love!

Week~A~Boo.......{blue skies & oversized sunnies}

Why hello there Sunday Night...you greet us yet again :)

My friend & I were having a little giggle the other day....we were discussing how fast the years seem to be flying. I mean...c'mon.....November.....how the heck did we get to the the 2nd last month of 2010 already?! We were saying that maybe it's just because we're getting older & busier & more mature {haaa} and this is giving us the illusion that the speed of time has increased....but then our serious chat turned to giggles of conspiracies.....maybe, just maybe... time HAS sped up & some crazy little scientist {in a white coat of course} {and he'll look something like this} will soon prove it....that time, in fact, IS racing by & it's not just us busy people imagining it.

Anyways.....getting sidetracked here :)

How was YOUR weekEND? What lovely {or not-so lovely} adventures did you entail?

Here's a peek into our weekend through a collection of piccies:

The sky was a BRILLIANT blue all weekend....and the clouds on Saturday afternoon were so amazing! They were quite low....they gave the illusion that they were close enough to grab!! LOVED IT!

We bought a $3 packet of DORA Stampers & had some 'clean' crafty fun :)

And....I'm linking these photos up to Kasia's Kiddy Art! Head over there to get some weekly Kiddy Art'n'Craft inspiration!

{Above} That's a picture of me...didn't you recognise me, with my legs growing from my chin & my 1 ear :))

We lit the candles in the daytime....just because they make the house smell so damn good.....and it was the WEEKEND :)

And watered the herbs in bikinis.......JUST BECAUSE :)

And....we made pizzas, whilst wearing animal aprons & Christmas accessories.....because that's how we roll on a Saturday evening in our house :)

We made doughnuts & scones & then got in our party best to celebrate Miss Ava's {my eldest niece} 9th Birthday! HAPPY BIRTHDAY PRINCESS GIRL!

And....we rocked out over-sized sunglasses on our way to the local shops!!!

So, that my friends was a peek into bits of OUR weekEND!! I'd love so much to see a snippet or a whole album of what you got up to this weekend! Please show me.....link your weekend blog post back to here & add your post to the linky below!

Have a great week All.....and keep an eye out for that Scientist....I swear time is speeding up :)

Take time to look up.....

Do you ever take the time to just stop....and look up?

The sky truly is one of the most amazing, beautiful sights we have in this world! I love sky watching! It's become one of my favourite chill-out activities with my toddler! We lay on the trampoline or the grass & just look up! We admire the colours, the shapes, the sounds, the never-ending horizon!

It's really blissful!

Maybe it's because I'm getting older, maybe it's because I'm now a Mother, or maybe it's just me......but lately I've really enjoyed all the little things in life {like looking at the sky} and really absorbing them all in!

Afterall, I think it's the little things in life that are the most miraculous :)

Here's some lovely SKY pictures to take you into the weekend....

Sunday Splash of Colour.....{YELLOW}

Good morning everyone :) How are you all?

It's a glorious day here.....the sun is shining and not a cloud in the sky...AND....our little Miss Ella slept in til 8am today!!!!! For those of you who know me....you know that Ella DOES NOT usually sleep in past 6/6:30am most days!! And she only woke twice last night.....so today has been PERFECT so far ;o)

On that note, I thought I'd do a Sunday Splash of YELLOW to go with my lovely start to the day! Last week I did RED, and a couple of months ago, I did PINK!!

So...here's some YELLOW to brighten your Sunday:

The Past Few Days....{At My House}

Over the past few days, At My House......we've:

been baking blueberry, blackberry & raspberry muffins,

been reading recipe magazines to find new cooking inspiration :)

lying on the trampoline, looking up & sky gazing {the view from the trampoline} {look at that beautiful winter blue colour!}

having fun with the camera whilst sky gazing on the trampoline {me & my bubba....hehehe I love her little teeth sticking out in this shot!!!! Makes me smile}

AND.....we did a balloon launch for a very special little boy :) My lovely friend {my Canadian Penpal Tara} has 2 gorgeous children! Her youngest had his first birthday last week! He is such a little miracle of a child {after a scary & traumatic start to his life 12 months ago} and he is simply one of the cutest boys I've ever laid my eyes on {yep.....we're doing an arranged marriage for him & Ella LOL}

Since we couldn't be at his 1st Birthday Party {they live on the other side of the world}, we did a balloon launch instead! Ella drew pictures of him on a helium balloon, she made a wish for the little Birthday Boy, kissed the balloon & let it free into the sky!! We laid on the grass & watched it for A LONG time....until it finally disappeared into the clouds :) PURE MAGIC & FUN!!!

Now that school holidays are over :( I'm back to work this week! But on the up-side, Ella's ballet lessons resume again tomorrow after 2 weeks holidays....which she is VERY excited about!

If you'd like to see what's been happening at other people's houses.....head over here to see the At My House links!!

Please, Tell me...what's been happening at your house lately?

I Can See a Rainbow.....

"Look Ella, I can see a Rainbow, can you see it?" I say excitedly as I'm pointing out the car window!

"No Mumma.....no wainbow in my window" she replies, and then continues chatting to her dolly, showing absolute no interest in what I was saying ;o) As we drive on, I'm absolutely blown away by the beauty of this stream of colours across the sky! It really was the brightest, most perfectly lit rainbow I have EVER seen!

We pull up in the shopping centre carpark, I unstrap Ella from her toddler seat and we start to pace across the bitumen! Ella suddenly stopped in her tracks & stared into the sky in awe!!

"Wow....look Mummy....a wainbow!!"

Our 'quick pop down to the shops' ended up taking us 45 minutes, because Ella was fascinated by this piece of magic across the skyline! We stood in the carpark admiring it, discussing it & wondering what magic lay at the end of it for almost 15minutes:)

I was so happy that she had seen it for herself! It brought me a lot of joy to see how excited & amazed she was!

Seeing the world through a 2 year old's eyes truly is MAGICAL! Standing there in the busy carpark of our local shops....nothing else mattered! It was lovely to be lost in the world of wonder, imagination & beauty!
