Welcome to the bloggy home of Claire Chadwick. I'm the face & designer behind Scissors Paper Rock Designs, a wife to Chris, Mummy to the Divine Miss Ella & our newest addition; Baby Ryder. I'm a Primary School Teacher by trade, but recently shut my classroom door to pursue other BIG dreams of Freelance Writing. I am also excited to announce that my first Children's Picture Book {So Many Sounds} will hit stores in June 2013. This blog is my little online space where I weave together my reflections and stories of Motherhood. I illustrate with photos.... and drink plenty of coffee to keep me going. I'm on a mission to turn the mundane moments of motherhood into MAGICAL ones.

Join me in seeping as much goodness out of life, {whilst I continue to drink way too much coffee & take way too many photos} and together we can make the most of our WILD & PRECIOUS LIVES!

I'd love to hear from you....comment on my posts or send me an email. Buckle up, Enjoy the ride!

Live! Laugh! Love!

Lovely Blog.....{x S.K.K x}

I wasn't planning on blogging tonight as I've had a MASSIVE day at work today & am not feeling 100% again and quite frankly....I need an early night!!

But, I came across a post on one of my favourite blogs tonight & I had to share it! You know that feeling of 'loveliness' you get when you read something that is inspiring & honest! And you find yourself nodding in agreement or in understanding....well that's how I felt as I read Sarah's Blog Post, titled: Spring!

Head over to her blog x S.K.K x for a read! It's a lovely post & after reading it, I feel inspired & uplifted!

Thanks Sarah!

LEGO Themed Party.......{Real Events feat. SPR}

A couple of months ago, the Lovely Katena from Taylor Made Baking contacted me about doing some invitations for her son's upcoming 7th Birthday! I was super excited about this, as it was a theme I had never done before.....LEGO MAN!!! Cool hey?!

I came up with an invitation design & started to get to work. I was then hospitalised & out of action for a couple of weeks! Katena was so gorgeous to me during this time....she was so understanding & patient.....and I managed to get the invitations done & sent to her in perfect timing! Phew!

She then contacted me again to ask if I was interested in designing the Dessert Table Labels & the Party Box Labels!!! These were also a lot of fun to do as I got to play with some bright colours, cool fonts & crazy patterns!

Well.....the party happened last weekend & earlier this week, Katena started posting about it on her blog! She did such an amazing job! The dessert table looked fabulous & everything came together so perfectly! Her little man is a lucky boy!! And check out all the fabulous cakes, cupcakes, cookies etc....ALL made by Katena!

Here's some pics...ENJOY!

The invitations front & back :) Designed & Made by Claire Chadwick, Scissors Paper Rock.

Didn't I tell you....It was awesome!? I think every 7 year old boy would be very impressed with that!!!

I love looking at all of Katena's baked creations....she's so talented! I am going to ask her to do some cookies for Ella's 'Rainbow Party' in January! YAY!

Great job Katena!

My Blog.....before My Blog....

{image from here}

This little wee-blog of mine is only several months young.....however during 2007 & 2008 I had another blog! It was a PREGNANCY BLOG! As soon as we discovered the magical news that I was pregnant in May of 2007, I started googling & reading & joining in on pregnancy forums! I wanted to know everything about this little miracle growing inside me.....so, I joined a great website called I-am-pregnant.

On this website, you can not only join in on forums & chats, but you can add & view photos of nurseries, bellies....pretty much anything & everything pregnancy & child related!! But the best part was....you can host your own pregnancy blog on this site! It's a fun way to keep record of your pregnancy journey & join in with other's journeys too! I met some amazing Mummies from all over the world on that site! And even after you've had Bub...there's still forums & group chats about each month & milestone of a baby/toddler/child's life! I also found it a great place to go when you wanted to gloat about Bub hitting a milestone or cry & vent when something wasn't going too well....or a place to ask questions or share stories of loss & fear!

You can view & read my pregnancy with Ella blog here!

Including my birth story with my little Miss :)

I love reading back on that blog & remembering life as a couple {pre-kids} and all the magic & joy that pregnancy brought me/us! I love that I have a keepsake reminder of the ups & downs of being pregnant with my first child! I have printed off a copy of the blog & put it in 'Ella's special box' for her to read when she's older :)

Did you keep a journal or diary of your pregnancy/s?
