Welcome to the bloggy home of Claire Chadwick. I'm the face & designer behind Scissors Paper Rock Designs, a wife to Chris, Mummy to the Divine Miss Ella & our newest addition; Baby Ryder. I'm a Primary School Teacher by trade, but recently shut my classroom door to pursue other BIG dreams of Freelance Writing. I am also excited to announce that my first Children's Picture Book {So Many Sounds} will hit stores in June 2013. This blog is my little online space where I weave together my reflections and stories of Motherhood. I illustrate with photos.... and drink plenty of coffee to keep me going. I'm on a mission to turn the mundane moments of motherhood into MAGICAL ones.
Join me in seeping as much goodness out of life, {whilst I continue to drink way too much coffee & take way too many photos} and together we can make the most of our WILD & PRECIOUS LIVES!
I'd love to hear from you....comment on my posts or send me an email. Buckle up, Enjoy the ride!

I designed this bus scroll print with a focus towards teenagers/tweens, as a simple daily reminder to BELIEVE & LEARN & GROW! But, every time I read it, some little part sits well with me & I feel inspired. So I guess it could be for anyone......adults, children, teens.....whoever! A lovely lady recently purchased this from me, and said she was buying it as a 'Thank You/Christmas Gift' for her child's teacher! I thought that was perfect! What a gorgeous poster to hang in a classroom to remind children to WANT MORE & BE MORE & ACHIEVE MORE!
In life, I seek balance & enjoyment & love! My prints are a way to portray all these messages brewing in my heart & to bring positively & inspiration to others :)

This print can be purcahsed from here. Our BUY 2 PRINTS, GET A 3rd FREE is still in place....but not for much longer!
Sunday, November 14, 2010 at 8:53PM We enjoyed a slow weekend which was soooooo nice! This time of year is always so hectic {and for most people I believe}. There's work related responsibilities, birthday parties, Christmas parties, dance concerts, school concerts, graduations, assessment periods, holiday planning & end-of-year celebrations happening at every corner you look! So, to have a whole weekend with no plans, no schedules & no events {this time of year} was BLISS!
However, unfortunately this weekend was only slow & uneventful for me! Chris had work to do.....ALL WEEKEND! The poor thing was locked in our home office/computer room/studio pretty much every minute of the 2 days! He emerged out every now & then to eat, shower, go for a quick run & he even squeezed in a tiny bit of sleep at some ridiculous hour this morning, but he had proposals to write, invoices to create & quotes to prepare! Even though I missed our family time this weekend....I'm so proud of the time, effort & passion he is putting into his business!
So...Saturday, I decided to abandon ship so he could have the house to himself to work in peace! Ella & I headed down to Chris's parents house to help out with their 'moving house garage sale' & to enjoy the gorgeous warm day in their lovely swimming pool! It was sooooo nice! Just us girls {Chris's Mum, Aunty, Ella & I}, hanging out with snacks & wine & ice-cream & sunshine! Perfect really!

Today {Sunday} was a day mainly spent at home doing a whole lot of nothing really! {Oh I lie, we did leave the house this morning to do a quick grocery shop} We played outside, painted our nails {which Ella who is right in the Miss Independent stage insisted on painting her own nails "BY HERSELF"} We watched movies, and ate totally unhealthy stuff like microwave popcorn, cold milo drinks & fluffy pancakes! We did drawings & played with baby dolls for many a moment! And....I even scored a 1.5 hour nap this afternoon, whilst Chris entertained Ella {and doing his work at the same time!}. Yep, he's a keeper alright :))
I have report cards to write & jobs to do....but I NEEDED a weekend of nothingness! And now....I'm ready to welcome the new week with arms wide open & energy to burn....and back to attacking my list of things to do!

These baby sized trolleys are so damn cute!

YEP....she got it all over her fingers! But she was proud of herself....and I was proud of her for having a go! I'm learning to accept this whole 'messy' concept nowadays :) But with a face like that {below} she could get away with anything LOL!

And then this evening, we ate dinner outside & ended the weekend a little something like this:

What about YOU? What did you weekend consist of?
I'd love to know....leave a comment below telling me all 'bout it! or even better.....blog about it & link your post back to here in the linky below!

Sunday, November 14, 2010 at 12:02PM These photos were taken yesterday at my parent-in-law's house! They live on a gorgeous big lake, and after we enjoyed a loooong swim in the pool which overlooks the lovely lake, I then got out the camera to snap up these shadowy shots:

And this one below isn't a shadow as such, but a reflection.... of me taking the photo into the glass bi-fold deck door. I love how you can see the lake & the resort apartments on the other side of the lake in the background.

I'm playing along with Hey Harriet and her weekly linky post ~ Shadow Shot Sunday!
Happy Sunday everyone!
See you later for week-a-boo!

Saturday, November 13, 2010 at 7:38AM When Ella was 12 months old, I finished maternity leave & returned to work part-time. I work 3 days/week. This suits me perfectly, it suits our family & even though our budget would prefer me to be working full-time, I wouldn't have it any other way....I don't want to miss out on Ella's early years! When I started filling out the daycare enrollment forms to have her in care 3 days a week, both my Mum & Chris's Mum said they would like to care for Ella 1 day per week! YAY!! I love that!!! So, Miss Ella goes to 'kindy' 2 days/week & then her Nanny & Grandma look after her on alternate Fridays! As you can imagine....ELLA LOVES FRIDAYS!!!
So, on this Saturday....I'm grateful for FAMILY! Not only does Ella love her Fridays with her Grandparents, but it saves us the $68 to have her in care AND they come to her for the day.....so we're not up super early packing her bags, forcing down her breakfast & rushing to get out the door early :) And to my delight, most Fridays when I return from work, our washing is done & folded, dinner is cooked & Ella is one very happy little chappy!!!! I love that Ella gets that one-on-one time with her Nanny & Grandma, the relationship she's building with both of them is so beautiful!
I am blessed with an amazing family.....on both sides...mine & Chris's and for that I am so very grateful!
Although, I must admit I get a little jealous hehehe....yesterday whilst at work....Ella was crafting & cooking with Grandma, then they set off down to the beach to meet Grampy {my Dad} for a sausage sizzle BBQ & a play in the sun!! And last week, she was off shopping, at the playground & having strawberry milk with her Nanny & Aunty! Oh life's tough when you're 2 :)

{Photos Above} Ella with her Grandma & Nanny!
I'm joining in with Maxabella's Grateful Saturday, head over there to see a lovely list of people are loving today!
Have a beautiful Saturday!

YEAH BABY....it's the weekend!!!
Life is crazily busy at the moment....in good ways I guess! But I feel like there is just not enough hours in each day! Does anyone else feel like this?? I have so much going on at school {work}....it's report cards time, end of year concert time & assessments galore, I also have a list as long as my arm to complete for my own business, never ending life-goodness-seeping to do with my little family, a huge list of dreams to conquer & of course fun to have!! I'm running on empty most days lately.....VERY late nights, ridiculous early mornings & not a second to myself! Have I bitten off more than I can chew? Sure!!! Am I trying to juggle way too many balls? Probably! Am I coping? Yep....so far....and i'll continue this juggling act for as long as it seems to be working! But, I'm happy! I'm loving all the work & challenges & doors being open to me! I'm loving never being bored! I'm loving the balance of being a stay-at-home Mum some days....and a 'working-mum' other days! I'm even finding the exhaustion quite motivating....if that makes any sense? I'm still getting PLENTY of time with my little girl & loving every moment...she's at such a beautiful age! My housework may be getting a little neglected compared to my usual OTT routine & we may have had to have takeaway last night....BUT....we're rolling along.....still living, laughing, WORKING HARD....and LOVING!
And hopefully this weekend brings a lovely chance to sit back and:
P.S. This RELAX print is designed by me & will soon be available in MADEIT & ETSY stores as well as my website! It will be $19.95...and it measures a large 30cm x 40cm! If you want to buy it before I get a chance to list it...just email me at scissorspaperrockdesigns@gmail.com Payments can be made via PAYPAL or Direct Deposit!
What do you have planned for the weekend?
I hope you get a slice of relaxation too! And I hope to see you joining in with week-a-boo on Sunday night or Monday morning!
Happy Friday All!!
