One Weekend Wonder {4} Boating

One Weekend Wonder - {a weekly link-up} - a special moment or experience captured during the weekend. One you want to cherish.

Sunday; we were invited out for the day on our friend's boat. And when I say boat, I mean; a luxury house that floats. Seriously Beautiful.

They keep it docked in the canal at the end of their yard. We headed out at 9am, cruising through the Gold Coast canals & rivers, until we reached the Broadwater.

The sun was shining, the air was warm, the wind was calm, the kids were excited, the grown-ups were relaxed.......so we poured the champagne & cracked open the beer. Coz that's what you do whilst cruising in luxury on a perfect Spring day isn't it?

No truly, the day was perfect.

Sweet little friends & sleeping babies = happy Mummas.

By 11:30am, we were anchored on the shores of Stradbroke Island, and soaking up the glorious weather.

Ryder & Lucy ate a few bucketfuls of sand, Ella & Amelia splashed in the water's edge. More beverages were devoured. I think every Sunday should look like this! Don't you agree?

Will I ever tire of photographing his delicious little feet? Probably not.

Once tummies started grumbling, we walked over to the island's pub for a scrumptious lunch. I had a huge chicken parmigana with a serving of salty chips, and it was gooood. Washed down with a little more champers. Hey it was Sunday!

A live band was playing, there was a playground for the kids, and the atmosphere was very chilled. Surrounded by great company, we kicked back & simply enjoyed.

Ryder swiped his sister's ice-cream. And had a good dig at it, until Mummy & Daddy intervened :)

Later in the afternoon, we loaded back on board and cruised off into the sunset.

A couple of hours later, we were docked back at their place with 4 very sleepy yet content children. A fairly early night was had last night as we re-energised from a gorgeous day out at sea with some great friends. A perfect Sunday really!

One to remember!

Thank you Kate & Gav for an awesome day. We'll be your boaty-buddies any day! :)

And whilst I was tucking Ella into bed last night, all sun-kissed & happy, she comes out with: "Mum, can we please get a boat like Amelia's? I really liked it and want one too!"

I know honey.....we all do. We all do :)

What did your weekend deliver? I'd love to see. Feel free to link up with your weekend posts.

Have a great week All.

I couldn't agree more Sarah!! It was so blissful. We had a boat as I was growing up & I have such wonderful memories from weekends out on it.
