Welcome to the bloggy home of Claire Chadwick. I'm the face & designer behind Scissors Paper Rock Designs, a wife to Chris, Mummy to the Divine Miss Ella & our newest addition; Baby Ryder. I'm a Primary School Teacher by trade, but recently shut my classroom door to pursue other BIG dreams of Freelance Writing. I am also excited to announce that my first Children's Picture Book {So Many Sounds} will hit stores in June 2013. This blog is my little online space where I weave together my reflections and stories of Motherhood. I illustrate with photos.... and drink plenty of coffee to keep me going. I'm on a mission to turn the mundane moments of motherhood into MAGICAL ones.

Join me in seeping as much goodness out of life, {whilst I continue to drink way too much coffee & take way too many photos} and together we can make the most of our WILD & PRECIOUS LIVES!

I'd love to hear from you....comment on my posts or send me an email. Buckle up, Enjoy the ride!

Live! Laugh! Love!

Day Two - I think I'm going to refuse leaving here.

Day two in paradise presented us with again, some more perfection. The weather was divine - not too hot, just right. Not too sunny, but sunny enough enough to scream 'life is beautiful'. And delightfully breezy but not too forceful.

This little mate greeted us this morning on our patio:

We've been warned to close & lock our patio doors when we go out. Not so much because of 'human thieves'.....more because of the cockatoos who don't mind a bit of food & drink snatching from inside the hotel rooms :)

We kicked off the day with a full buffet breakfast. It's part of our package. So you can rest assured that we stuffed our faces full.....{and I may have even been the scungy woman jamming watermelon pieces, yoghurt tubs & mini muffins into tupperware containers for later-in-the-day-kid-snacks!......hey, it's all you can eat isn't it! I can be a little scrimpy like that!}

And then we hit the pool.

Ella made a little friend.

After some sun & swimming, we headed back to the room so Ryder could have a morning nap. Once he woke, we were keen to explore the island more. There's the 'resort side' and then the 'marina side'. Although walking distance, we decided to get a golf buggy {the mode of transport here} to explore the Marina Side, as it's very VERY hilly, and would not be fun walking with 2 kids & all our bags of supplies.

It was fun cruising around in our buggy.

Scrumptious buggy toes.

The Marina Side was all kinds of delightful. An eclectic collection of  touristy venues, convenience stores, high-end fashion, pubs, restaurants & art galleries.

Yesterday morning as we were packing to leave, my hair straightener died. Not usually a big deal.....but I had all of my hair hacked off last Thursday and without a quick straighten before stepping out.....I have an out of control frizzy bob! I was devastated that I had to embark on a week's holiday with Lloyd Christmas hair. However, today, we found two hair straightener options for sale here on the Island. {1} A lovely GHD for $315 or a {2} mini traveler straightener for $26. I went with the mini :)

Amazing scupltures in this gallery. We watched the local artist at work.....

We grabbed some fish n chips, and headed off in our buggy to find a good picnic spot.

Over a couple of hills & around a few bends.....and we ended up here:

Hello World.

The more we drove on, and the more corners we turned. The more amazing, breathtaking views we stumbled across.

I told you; this place is magical.

I don't think I want to leave here. Ever.

I learned today that there's a state school here on this Island. A picturesque school with shady, tropical playgrounds and ocean views. Any teacher openings here?? Coz I want the job :)

********

The afternoon rolled on with more swimming, more naps and more play.

Tonight, we dined in the same restaurant as last night, because it's close and easy......and the food is good. Ryder passed out in the pram within the first 10 minutes of the meal, which allowed us to relax & truly dine. He may be a terrible night sleeper and a very short day napper, but at least he's quite versatile in where he'll sleep. That's a big bonus :)

I downed the first cocktail of the trip :)

A day of activity, left Ella with a good appetite:

*********

It's now 9:15pm, and again - we have two snoozing children, our wine glasses filled, the music on, and our seats on the deck.

Pinch me. I'm asleep & dreaming. Surely.

See you tomorrow for Day Three :)

I meant to comment on your last post about your hair as I noticed it was shorter in the photo booth shots... it looks FAB!!! Really suits you and is very stylish. Am loving joining you guys on your holiday through these posts...brings back such great memories of the place for me. Aren't those golf buggies such fun?! Definitely the way to go with all those hills even if you didn't have kids :) I still maintain to this day that the best fish and chips I've ever had was from the fish and chips place on the marina strip. Ryder is a champ sleeping in his pram so well... Soph will not sleep in hers... in fact I don't think she ever has come to think of it. Gorgeous photos, especially the chubby toes shot :)
