Welcome to the bloggy home of Claire Chadwick. I'm the face & designer behind Scissors Paper Rock Designs, a wife to Chris, Mummy to the Divine Miss Ella & our newest addition; Baby Ryder. I'm a Primary School Teacher by trade, but recently shut my classroom door to pursue other BIG dreams of Freelance Writing. I am also excited to announce that my first Children's Picture Book {So Many Sounds} will hit stores in June 2013. This blog is my little online space where I weave together my reflections and stories of Motherhood. I illustrate with photos.... and drink plenty of coffee to keep me going. I'm on a mission to turn the mundane moments of motherhood into MAGICAL ones.

Join me in seeping as much goodness out of life, {whilst I continue to drink way too much coffee & take way too many photos} and together we can make the most of our WILD & PRECIOUS LIVES!

I'd love to hear from you....comment on my posts or send me an email. Buckle up, Enjoy the ride!

Kid, You'll Move Mountains!

After weeks & weeks of rocking back n forth on all fours, and teasing us with false alarms of crawling - Ryder is now officially on the move.

His big sister's room is one of our favourite hang outs. We spend many an hour in there, playing, exploring, building, pretending, dancing & reading. And yesterday, as Ella played Lego at one end of her room and Ryder played {destroyed} toys at the other end of the room, I watched him carefully as he eyed off the teeny-tiny pieces of plastic his sister was enjoying. I could see the want in his eyes, the desire to get there, and eat those tempting little bits. I sat back & watched, intrigued by his determination & persistence, as he slowly mastered the act of knees & hands working together. He gradually made his way across the room to where his sister was busily at work. I clapped & cheered and hugged my clever little man. Much to his despair we moved the Lego out of his reach {and mouth} and watched as he traversed the room again.

Yep, he's on the move!

Milestones & achievements, and all the stages our babies go through; amazes me. To think just 9 months ago, I had this tiny {ok, he was never really tiny was he?....but he was smaller than now} completely dependent newborn. A kick of his leg, a smile, even a yawn was breathtaking & celebratory. Now....just 9 fast months later, and he's crawling. He's saying Mumma & Dadda, and attempting to make 'Der' sounds for his own name. He's clapping & pointing & playing peekaboo. He's mimicking his big sister & doing things to purposefully make us laugh. He's growing!

I'm so proud.

Oh, the Places You'll Go!
Congratulations, Today is your day;
You're off to great places,

You're off and away!

And, Will you succeed?

Yes, you will! Yes, Indeed!

98 and 3/4 percent, guaranteed!

Go Ryder!! Yay!! It's amazing to think that he's been a part of your family for as long as he was in your belly :) Sophie is the same with grace's room - it's her favourite place in our house by far with so many tempting toys ad bits and bobs :)
