Olympic Spirit.

Yesterday morning; Chris, Ryder & I, ventured up to Ella's Kindy to watch the Grand Kindy Olympics.

Oh my....be still my happy heart!

It was such a perfect morning. One of those moments in parenting, where you find yourself staring at your amazing little being, and wondering "How the heck did I get so lucky to have her? Wow.... I'm a Mum....a real Mum!" Coz there, in the sea of happy little kids, was our beam of sunshine. Our Ella.

She only goes to Kindergarten 2 days / week {well....a 5 day fortnight actually....so sometimes 3 days/week}, but during those days, she learns so much. She's formed some amazing little friendships, and she's blooming into an independent, confident girl. No longer my baby, or even my toddler. But a real little GIRL!

True to the proverb: "Bloom where you are planted" - Our little flower, she is blooming and we couldn't be any more prouder.

And yesterday, as Mums & Dads, Grandparents & Family Members gathered to cheer on their little Kindy Kids, I watched as each & every one of them beamed with pride. Cameras were working overtime, smiles were statued across faces. Thumbs-up were being given, and constant high fives were being exchanged. Facebook statuses were being updated & photos uploaded on the spot, for the wider community to witness as well. It was refreshing - reassuring in fact. So much love. So many mummas & daddas wanting the best for their kids - and simply being there for them!

Chris took the morning off work to be a part of Ella's special day. I got to step back & watch, which was nice....as this Daddy / Daughter team did their thing....

She was so excited to have him there.

I don't know who was more proud. Him or her?!

And of course, baby brother was there.....to cheer on...from his pram :)

And to guard the water bottles :)

The Olympic Spirit is in full swing at the moment. Such a joyous time...worldwide.

And with a few ex-students from Ella's school in this year's games, the school is celebrating BIG!

As a parent, I worry A.LOT! I think it just comes with the territory once you bring a little life into the world. Being a worrier is just part of the job! I worry about the future - my kids' future! I worry about bad choices, bad luck, change, unforeseen circumstances, ill-health & tragedy. I worry about the things I can not control. But, every now & then, during special moments; like yesterday's Kindy Games - I push those worries to the back of my mind and embrace the GOOD that are happening around me. And there is so much good!

Ella getting her medal :) That smile & wave - for her Daddy!!!!!Above: She has an amazing teacher. We love Mrs P. She has made Ella's Kindergarten experiences so rich!

My girl & I.

Enjoying the Olympic Spirit!

What a fun-filled day it looks like you all had - such a great idea! You have written this post so beautifully Claire and captured so much of not only the enjoyment you all got out of watching Ella and supporting her, but also your pride as her Mama xx
