Welcome to the bloggy home of Claire Chadwick. I'm the face & designer behind Scissors Paper Rock Designs, a wife to Chris, Mummy to the Divine Miss Ella & our newest addition; Baby Ryder. I'm a Primary School Teacher by trade, but recently shut my classroom door to pursue other BIG dreams of Freelance Writing. I am also excited to announce that my first Children's Picture Book {So Many Sounds} will hit stores in June 2013. This blog is my little online space where I weave together my reflections and stories of Motherhood. I illustrate with photos.... and drink plenty of coffee to keep me going. I'm on a mission to turn the mundane moments of motherhood into MAGICAL ones.

Join me in seeping as much goodness out of life, {whilst I continue to drink way too much coffee & take way too many photos} and together we can make the most of our WILD & PRECIOUS LIVES!

I'd love to hear from you....comment on my posts or send me an email. Buckle up, Enjoy the ride!

Live! Laugh! Love!

Lately.

A few nuggets of what's been happening around these parts of the woods lately.....

Nanny & Pa gave Ella a new baby bath last week, as her last one broke & was thrown out during the house move. It's kicked off her 'motherly' instincts again. She's enjoying bathing, feeding & loving on her baby dolls all over again.

When I feed Ryder, she feeds "Lucy Charlotte"....who was formerly known as "Fred Charlie" but somehow attained a name change lately.

A 'normal' day in our house =  mess. And usually abandoned mess. Mess that I try to embrace coz it means my kids are playing & 'being kids', they're creating & imagining & having fun, but also mess that I can't help but clean up as soon as I can. As soon as Ella moves on to the next toy or game, I swoop in like one of those Ibis birds at the beach, and tidy the said mess....or get my cranky-Mummy-voice out and insist she cleans up straight away. Hey, I like my house tidy! I'm anal like that!

Ryder is almost 9 months old! That first birthday is still creeping closer. And I don't like it one bit!

He's eating so well. {who I am kidding....he's always eaten well lol} but lately, he's really enjoyed trying new foods & textures. There's not much he doesn't love. He's not a huge fan of avocado, but will eat it if it's on offer :)

We celebrated Lily's 2nd birthday last weekend. She's such a gorgeous little thing. Happy Birthday darling girl xx

Ryder missed a good chunk of the party, as naptime called. But he enjoyed some slumber in Aunty's arms....and I think she did too :)

For a few months, Ella has been talking about sending in a picture to the Giggle Gallery on ABC for Kids. So last week...she did :) I remember doing this as a kid - putting together pieces of art to send off to magazines & TV shows. The world of technology has evolved drastically since I was a kid......but some things never change...

She drew Hootabelle :)

Our animated, little bubble of life {aka Ella}. She makes me laugh everyday with her quirky little ways and ideas. She's also getting to an age where an attitude is creeping in. It scares me. Can I just keep her this little for longer? Please!

This morning, my friend Tiffany came to pick Ella up for a 'girl's day'. Just the 2 of them. They headed off to the cinemas to see Brave. Ella was so excited all morning. Each little thing like this....teaches me the art of letting go. Letting go & accepting that she's growing & with each special experience like this, she's stretching out her independent little wings.

And I'm enjoying a day with my little man. Just him & I. A heap of toys strewed across the floor, my laptop, a plate of snacks, a lots of giggles.

Chris was away all of last weekend for work, so hopefully we can make up for that lost family time with some hanging out this weekend :)

Have a great weekend everyone :)

Another rainbow blanketed our house. Life is like a rainbow. You need both the sun and the rain to make its colours appear.

A gorgeous post, Claire. I love how you keep it real. It's so refreshing. I swoop like an ibis as well ☺. I hope Ryder continues eating so well - I have 3 fussy pixies here! J x

Yep, fellow Ibis here too! Don't think we are going to change in that department anytime soon. Mia is crazy about her baby dolls too. She plays with them all of the time and isn't it so nice to watch them being mummas. Cassie x
