Welcome to the bloggy home of Claire Chadwick. I'm the face & designer behind Scissors Paper Rock Designs, a wife to Chris, Mummy to the Divine Miss Ella & our newest addition; Baby Ryder. I'm a Primary School Teacher by trade, but recently shut my classroom door to pursue other BIG dreams of Freelance Writing. I am also excited to announce that my first Children's Picture Book {So Many Sounds} will hit stores in June 2013. This blog is my little online space where I weave together my reflections and stories of Motherhood. I illustrate with photos.... and drink plenty of coffee to keep me going. I'm on a mission to turn the mundane moments of motherhood into MAGICAL ones.

Join me in seeping as much goodness out of life, {whilst I continue to drink way too much coffee & take way too many photos} and together we can make the most of our WILD & PRECIOUS LIVES!

I'd love to hear from you....comment on my posts or send me an email. Buckle up, Enjoy the ride!

Training Wheels.

A month or so ago, Ella stated that she wanted her training wheels taken off of her bike. Well actually....she asked if we could take her 'stabilisers' off her bike...which I found quite amusing....considering we have NEVER used the word stabiliser, especially when talking about her bike. But I've since learnt, that Peppa Pig calls her 'training wheels' - 'stabilisers!'. {the power of TV} Haa.

So, we respected her request, and accepted that our baby-girl is yet again; ready to move on, grow up, gain more independance and spread her wings {or wheels in this case}.

The wheels came off.....

And we headed 1 minute up the road to a concrete topped water reservoir - the perfect flat plain for biking....

Perfect day for a bike ride :)

The view from the reservoir. We really do live in a beautiful part of the world:

And while Chris patiently persisted with the bike riding lesson, I strolled with Ryder, enjoying the day & view....

She wasn't a natural at it, and more time & practice is needed. But she had fun, and is excited to give it another crack soon.

And hey.....if at first you don't succeed - just do hopscotch :)

The 'stabilizer' comment cracked me up because I can picture the exact Peppa Pig episode Ella got that word from (Grace is a HUGE Peppa fan). I'm sure with a bit more practice, she'll be riding around by herself in no time, especially with that perfect spot you have for riding lessons! Love the last photo x

Yeah, go Ella! Such an important skill to learn for body awareness, coordination and balance.

Go Ella! She did so well for her very first try without her 'stabilizers' {funny girl}. It was lovely how she moved onto hopscotch when she was done, always looking for more joy in her day. Cassie x
