Welcome to the bloggy home of Claire Chadwick. I'm the face & designer behind Scissors Paper Rock Designs, a wife to Chris, Mummy to the Divine Miss Ella & our newest addition; Baby Ryder. I'm a Primary School Teacher by trade, but recently shut my classroom door to pursue other BIG dreams of Freelance Writing. I am also excited to announce that my first Children's Picture Book {So Many Sounds} will hit stores in June 2013. This blog is my little online space where I weave together my reflections and stories of Motherhood. I illustrate with photos.... and drink plenty of coffee to keep me going. I'm on a mission to turn the mundane moments of motherhood into MAGICAL ones.

Join me in seeping as much goodness out of life, {whilst I continue to drink way too much coffee & take way too many photos} and together we can make the most of our WILD & PRECIOUS LIVES!

I'd love to hear from you....comment on my posts or send me an email. Buckle up, Enjoy the ride!

Live! Laugh! Love!

The Way.

Sometimes the repetitiveness of parenting can be exhausting and stressful. It's easy to get stuck in a rut and only focus on the mundane. I too, get frustrated and impatient. I get annoyed and stressed. I get tired, run down and in desperate need of a break. It's only human to feel this way - especially when dealing with babies and littlies all day, everyday; 24/7.

However, with that said. I like to see the good in the bad. I like to focus on the positive and I try to have complete control over how I feel and how I react to a situation. I like to see the little things, the little snippets of magic in each moment and cherish them. I'm trying to breathe in all the goodness that comes with being a Mum - and being a Mum of little ones.

At the moment, I'm loving the way:

The bath bubbles and water drops, form perfectly on his silky skin. And the way he puts everything in his mouth. Yes, frustrating and scary and gross....but also very cute. It's his way of learning and feeling and understanding I guess.

I love the way his eye lashes curl and separate when he's splashing in the water. They're long and dark. A gorgeous contrast to his sparkling blues.

I love the way she bursts out into some serious dance moves whenever music is on. She skips and jumps and runs on the spot. She attempts the shuffle and pulls a few break-dance moves. Quite uncoordinated but usually in perfect tempo. Music runs through her veins, it fuels her.

I love the way his podgey little legs sit comfortably horizontally. Oh to have the flexibility of a baby. The rolls on his thighs and ankles, are just delicious, in this Mumma's eyes.

I love the way she can be so shy; gripping my hand and hiding behind my skirt, observing the situation. Yet so loud and boisterous at other times.

She's quiet and pensive, yet wild and adventurous. I like that!

What are you loving at the moment?

I urge you to look for the little things. The little quirky traits, or mundane moments that are actually soaked in magic.

ENJOY!

The eyelash photo of Ryder is perfection!! And his 'rolls' are delicious in my eyes too, he's such an adorable bub! Love the shot of Ella busting out some dance moves too :)

Yes I agree that sometimes the repetitiveness of parenting can be exhausting and stressful.

However as you said, it is good to focus on the positive and cherish the special moments we get. Some of the things I love are:

* Hearing my daughter talking and laughing with her friends. It makes me feel happy to hear them happy.

* Seeing new flowers growing in our garden.

* Having my husband come home safely after being away Interstate for a week.

* Spending time having fun with 2 of my nieces.
