I Scream for Ice Cream
Friday, October 26, 2012 at 12:55PM This past Monday was HOT! We hit high 30's again which were met with clear blue skies and typical summer weather {in Spring!}. Chris was still away on business, so I decided to fill our day to the brim with some summery goodness {in Spring!} to keep the kids happy and too busy to ask for the 14th million time "When will Daddy be home?"
I must say though {and I'm not trying to rub it in at all.....ok well maybe a little}..... but one of the BEST things about being a stay-at-home Mum to two littlies is that Monday-itis is not a part of of my week. Mondays are actually pretty cool. We have nowhere to be, no commitments to meet and no events to attend. Monday's are all about ME and the KIDS! I love Mondays! Each week they are different - usually fun!
To fight the soaring temperature, we left home in search for adventure....
A pitstop at the local pool for a splash and picnic......
And then we ended up here:

Pure perfection on a hot day. Or any day really!
Back in my uni days, I was a regular here. These days, with two kids in tow; it's only a 'sometimes' occurrence. And boy...it's good!
It was Ella's first Cold Rock experience {that she can remember....other visits slipped her toddler mind}

YES PLEASE!

She was pretty excited. The choices of mix-ins is quite overwhelming for a four year old - she wanted them ALL. I talked her down off the sugar buzzed ledge and she settled for chocolate ice cream with mini marshmallows and maltesers. Heaven for a four year old....and maybe a thirty year old too :)
They're running this really cute promo at the moment called SAVE THE GUMMI BEARS. The poor little Gummi's are on a mission to save their population so are talking you into buying the other mix-ins :) They're pushing cookie dough....by selling it for only 50c a serve.
I was happy. Cookie Dough just so happens to be my favourite mix-in anyways :)

There was a jukebox there. Ella thought it was pretty tootin cool.
Ryder sat by, watching us as we devoured ice-cream. I think he was a little annoyed - all that was on offer to him was a lousy rusk and vegemite crusket {it's tough being a baby isn't it?!}.
I went strawberry icecream with cookiedough, freddo and maltesers as mix-ins. Massive pigout session. And I loved every moment of it.

We then headed home for more swimming and summery fun {yes, in Spring!}.
Perfect Monday really! And no Gummi Bears were harmed in the process. Win Win!!

I haven't had one of their ice creams in years! Grace would be in heaven getting to choose out of all those toppings :)
