Welcome to the bloggy home of Claire Chadwick. I'm the face & designer behind Scissors Paper Rock Designs, a wife to Chris, Mummy to the Divine Miss Ella & our newest addition; Baby Ryder. I'm a Primary School Teacher by trade, but recently shut my classroom door to pursue other BIG dreams of Freelance Writing. I am also excited to announce that my first Children's Picture Book {So Many Sounds} will hit stores in June 2013. This blog is my little online space where I weave together my reflections and stories of Motherhood. I illustrate with photos.... and drink plenty of coffee to keep me going. I'm on a mission to turn the mundane moments of motherhood into MAGICAL ones.

Join me in seeping as much goodness out of life, {whilst I continue to drink way too much coffee & take way too many photos} and together we can make the most of our WILD & PRECIOUS LIVES!

I'd love to hear from you....comment on my posts or send me an email. Buckle up, Enjoy the ride!

Live! Laugh! Love!

October Theme - Bookworm Club

ScissorsPaperRockBlog

Hello Hello,

So sorry for my lack of bookclub last month. With Ryder being so unwell towards the end of August, and then we had our family holiday, and like all busy Mums - the month just got away from me.

BUT.... a new month is here! And a new chance to get involved in some reading, learning and interactive fun with our kids.

The theme for OCTOBER is.....

Country Vs City.

Interpret this theme, however you wish! You may want to just focus on a 'countryside' theme or just a 'city' theme. You may want to entwine them, or touch on both. You may want to compare the two different lifestyles / landscapes. You may want to focus on a book that is all about the theme....or has only a tiny element of it. WHATEVER SUITS YOU!!! There's no rules!!

I've got a few little ideas up my sleeve....but like each month....the days whiz by fast. So I'll just see how the weeks go and how much we can get done.

A trip the library is the first job on the list though :) And once I've gathered some books, then I can let my imagination run wild with what direction I want to take Ella's learning and experiences in.

If you haven't played along before.... here's some initial details. Here's my JULY participation. {I did July in 2 parts - here's PART ONE, and PART TWO!} And my AUGUST post.

Later in the month....usually around the 30th, I'll share mine & Ella's experiences with the theme, and I'll provide a link up for you to play along too.

Also, tag #SPRBOOKWORMS on Twitter or Instagram too....so I can share those in my feed too :)

Have fun! Don't stress about it, or make it a big chore! It's simply about sharing a love of books and reading with our kids and directing their learning down a certain path.

ENJOY!!!

Great choice for a theme Claire - we haven't been to the library yet but I'm hoping we'll be able to join in again this month (as much as we can amongst all Sophie's birthday preparations) x
