Somewhere Over the Rainbow....Ella's Party {Week-a-Boo}
Sunday, January 23, 2011 at 9:11PM {"Somewhere over the rainbow, Skies are blue, And the dreams that you dare to dream, Really do come true. Someday I'll wish upon a star, And wake up where the clouds are far, Behind me. Where troubles melt like lemon drops, Away above the chimney tops....That's where you'll find me."}

WARNING: this post is photo packed LOL!
This coming Tuesday...the 25th....will be Ella's 3rd Birthday! THREE....WOW!! My baby is nearly 3! So, this weekend, we celebrated....RAINBOW STYLE:

I made a 'candy bar' as the main 'feature' of the party! I kept the bright rainbow pallet throughout the whole party as much as possible :) And....I like to do things as 'cheaply' as possible {hey....who said style & fun had to cost a fortune?!}, so I made almost everything myself or sourced them from friends or 'nick nack' shops :) The prints, labels, banners & stickers were all designed & printed by me! {once I get them cleaned up, I'll put them on here as a free downloadable for you!!} I must give a massive shout-out to the lovely Katena from Taylor Made Baking though.....she made the AMAZING cookies :) I was thrilled with the end result & Ella loved every little detail! In her words: "Mummy, did you do this rainbow party just for me? Coz Mummy it's perfect and I think it's a great idea that all my friends are coming over to see all the rainbows!"

Rainbow Jelly Cups & Rainbow Doughnuts!

Rainbow Fizzy Drinks ~ I must thank Sharnel Dollar for the tip-off of where to get these sweet little bottles from :) And my friend Sheree who let me know when there was more in stock when I was on my hunt :)

{I made the 2 feature prints for the table & got the frames from Target! You can buy this print {in any name of your choice} here}

The Birthday Banner for my special girl :) Made by me....to carry through with the theme!

{above & below: the AMAZING cookies by Katena!! And they tasted as good as they look! Thank you Katena!!!!}

{above: the goodie bags for each child!}

I made some 'take home' rainbow cookie mixes for the adult's goodie bags :) I got the idea from Bakerella's Cowgirl Cookies & couldn't wait to use her inspiration to make something similar.....but rainbow :) Each adult also got an empty noodle box to fill up with copious amounts of lollies from the candy bar to take home :)

~ THE RAINBOW BIRTHDAY GIRL ~

{and yep.....the drink spilt....she was too in love with her 3 badge to remember she was holding a cup :)

Chris with his Rainbow Princess :) A proud Daddy!

Uncle Matty {Chris's Brother} is home from Japan!!!

Aunty Mon always delivers :) She came in her 'rainbow best' & partied hard rainbow style :)

Ella's little groovy friend Digby ~ son of the lovely Erin from Vera & Rose!

Above: Not only was it Ella's 3rd Birthday Party....but it was a special day in the sense that she experienced a very important milestone in a girl's life.....she got her first Louis Vuitton!! As you can tell.....I was a little excited about it LOL! How is it that my 3 year old owns a {real} LV purse before me???

Above: THE CAKE!!!! Ella's Grandma {my Mum} made this gorgeous chocolate mud rainbow! It was perfect!

I'm one proud Mummy!!! My baby is turning THREE!! And I know it sounds predictable & cliche.....but this little girl is THE WHOLE WORLD to me! She was made from love, she's surrounded by love, we show her daily what love is.....to me she is: LOVE!!!! Many moons ago, she asked for a rainbow party.....so a rainbow party we threw :) To me....Life is all about people & experiences & memories! I hope my sweet, soulful little girl goes through life; rich in amazing memories of her childhood!! I want her to cherish PEOPLE, and cherish happy moments of togetherness & celebration!
So, there you have it my friends! Did I manage to keep you throughout the WHOLE post? Or did I loose you in my 4million photos :)
Ella's 3rd party is over....done & dusted!! It was fun.....so fun! And so worth the money spent and the many hours designing, researching, planning & making!
What do you think?
And please, tell me...what did YOU get up to on the weekend?? Come join in with my linky....I'd love to have a peek in....

the candy bar is stunning! as i've said previously i'm organising my sisters baby shower and had the idea of a 'sweet theme' (as she is expecting a little girl, and we all know how sweet they are!!) and was going to try and put together my own kind of afternoon sweets table!

FABULOUS! What a brilliant party. All the little details are spot on. Love your ideas, Claire.
Thanks for sharing and HAPPY BIRTHDAY Ella!! x
Clever, clever mummy! Love it, esp the decorated cookies and cookie-mix jars -- just gorgeous! Did you already own all those clear vases that held the lollies? I have thought of doing that in the past, but didnt want to have to go out and buy a whole heap of expensive glassware!! I am sure your daughter had an absolute ball...... x
Gorgeous down to the last detail! I must say I can not believe your Mother made that cake I thought for sure it was a custom order from a bake shop! she should start her own business ;o)
You created such a wonderful party for Ella it is one that I am sure you and her will cherish for a life time. You can see not only by the love put into the decorations but the love that bursts through your smiles that what truly matters to you and your family is each other and doing all you can to make each other smile.
Your candy bar looks like something right out of a magazine and the creativity that lays upon it is out of this world.
I still remember your blog as if it was yesterday about Ella's dream for a rainbow party and now you can proudly give yourself a pat on the back and say that you made that dream come true!
Cheers to all of your hard work and celebrating another love filled year of Ella ;o)
