A Fun Recipe For You.....
Thursday, June 3, 2010 at 8:00PM This recipe isn't glamorous....but it's oh so easy and a lot of fun!
It would be great for a kid's party!! I made it today with my class {6 & 7 year olds} and they had a lot of fun & shared many giggles :) We wrote up the recipe & analysed every detail of the genre of procedures, we discussed measurements & quantities and I explained what each ingredient was! We have been learning about insects & mini-beasts for 8 weeks now.....so I thought it would be a great wrap up and a bit of fun to make..........
*Earthworm Mud Cake*
You will need:
- 250g choc ripple biscuits
- 250g block cream cheese (at room temperature)
- 1 cup of dark chocolate melts (melted)
- 1 cup of sultanas
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 pack of Sour Gummy Worms
Steps to Follow:
- Grease a round cake tin & line with baking paper
- Place the biscuits in a zip lock bag & crush with a rolling pin. Pour the crushed biscuits into a large mixing bowl
- In a small bowl, beat the sugar & cream cheese with an electric mixer.
- Beat the melted chocolate into the cream cheese mixture.
- Using a wooden spoon, mix the creamy mixture into the large bowl with the crushed biscuits.
- Stir in the sultanas.
- Pour the mixture into the cake tin and compact down.
- Using your finger, poke small holes into the top of the cake.
- Insert the sour worms into the holes.
- Refrigerate for 1 hour, or until firm.
A Few Handy Tips:
- Serve with a dollop of cream or ice-cream.
- Can be made & refrigerated for up to 5 days.
The best thing about this recipe is that it involves NO cooking or baking.....easy peasy!
And it's amazingly tasty too!
Have Fun!
